Hello and welcome. My name is Aurora Schafer. I am 20 years old and live in a small town in Nevada. I am a first-year student here at ASU, and an undergraduate.
I am currently working at our local Dairy Queen as a team member, and so far, I am loving it.
In my free time, I love to sing, draw, and bake. I have been singing since I was at 5 years old, and along with music, have been playing a good number of instruments since I was 7 years old. Drawing has also been a big part of my life. I draw all sorts of things from floral to anime to expressing my feelings on paper. Baking is just something that comes with who I am. I have been baking my entire life, and it got to the point people appointed me as the designated baker. I also love volunteering at the annual kids fishing derby that my town puts on the first weekend of June every year.
I only live close to a couple family members, and that's my mom, sister, dad, and soon my grandma. I haven't been that close to them, but for a while I've felt I've gotten closer. I have 4 pets at my parents' house, 2 cats and 2 dogs. Copper is a Bloodhound Rhodesian Ridgeback and Captain is a Manchester Terrier. I also have a little fur baby here at my house. He is a little Hamster named Brock.
Throughout my life I have made a ton of accomplishments. One of which was getting into ASU. I tried for 2 years after I graduated high school, being the class of 2022, and I finally made it in. I've also made Honor band a few times with the middle school and high school bands. Along with making it into the more professional band in high school playing a new instrument for them. I have also received my Greenhand Degree and Chapter FFA degree through the agriculture program at the high school I graduated from. Along with receiving my rank as a Cadet Operations Seargent Major in the Junior ROTC program.
The biggest professional goal i have is to become a Wildlife Veterinarian. Since I walked the stage in kindergarten, and they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I have never had a moment in my life where I was without an animal. I've owned cats, dogs, chicken, fish, hamsters, even flying squirls throughout my life, and to be able to help all kinds of animals has always been a dream.
Some quirky things about me are that I am super goofy, and always fun to be around, and I'm goofy while at work as well, but I still do my job, and make costumers want to come back. I also have something rare about me, I am allergic to Titanium. I was also adopted. My story gets complicated and makes people sad, but I love sharing it, so that others who have been through that same situation or something close to it can be helped and can find ways to cope through the pain.
