Kimberly Hanes is the Associate Director of Economic Development and Innovation Zones at Arizona State University (ASU). She collaborates with community partners and municipalities to support business relocation and expansion across Arizona while also leading engagement strategies for companies co-located with ASU. Previously, Kimberly oversaw operations and partnerships for the University of Arizona’s Greater Phoenix satellite locations and directed education-to-workforce initiatives at the Greater Phoenix Chamber.
Kimberly is a certified Arizona Economic Development Professional (AZED Pro) through the Arizona Association for Economic Development. She was an inaugural Fellow of the Greater Phoenix Workforce Leadership Academy, a program by the Aspen Institute and the Center for the Future of Arizona. She also served as an Education and Talent Development Fellow with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Talent Pipeline Management Academy.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Arts in Education from the College of William and Mary. Kimberly is a proud alumna of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps.
