Long Bio
Sophie brings several years of experience to her role as a Data Analyst at the Swette Center, including research, farming, food hub operations, farm-to-school, grant writing, and program management. She holds a Master's degree in Sociocultural Anthropology from KU Leuven with a specialization in the anthropology of food and is currently pursuing a Master's in Sustainable Food Systems from Arizona State University.
Sophie’s recent roles include serving as an AmeriCorps FoodCorps Food Education member, where she taught nutrition and gardening to elementary students, and working as a Program Manager at a nonprofit focused on strengthening the local food system. In that role, she collaborated with food hubs, food banks, producers, schools, and community organizations to improve food access and system resilience.
Now working as a food systems consultant, Sophie takes a holistic approach to supporting sustainable and equitable food systems. She is passionate about building resilience through outreach, education, program development, and policy. Her diverse experiences continue to shape her commitment to advancing sustainability in food systems. In her free time, Sophie enjoys traveling, hiking, and climbing.
