Dr. Min Jang is an Assistant Professor of Forensic Chemistry in the School of Interdisciplinary Forensics.
He earned his doctoral degree from the University of Surrey (UK), focusing on developing and applying methods for detecting drugs using fingerprints, which are easier to collect than other biological matrices such as urine, blood, and hair. This approach could significantly enhance the efficiency of drug analysis. Consequently, he began research centered on drug analysis involving fingerprints and pursued a path undertaking a analysis of new developments in fingerprint.
After obtaining his Ph.D., he was employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the Korean Research Institute of Chemical Technology (South Korea), where he expanded his analytical skill set from forensic to environmental chemistry, particularly conducting research on analyzing environmental toxicants and degradation products of biodegradable plastics.
His ongoing research is categorized into three areas: forensics (especially illicit substances), DUI, and ecotoxicity. His work has been published multiple times in prominent journals, and several additional papers are forthcoming soon.
