Kayode Odumboni's teaching and research revolve around the fields of Global Black Studies, Anglophone World Literature, African Literature, African Cultural Studies, and African American Literature.
His current research project traces the historiographical trajectory of political solidarities between Africans and African Americans since the mid-twentieth century till the present. His academic writing has appeared in journals such as African Literature Today (ALT), Research in African Literature (RAL), and Cambridge Journal of Postcolonial Literary Inquiry (PLI).
He earned a B.A in English from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He did his graduate work at The Ohio State University, where he earned an M.A. and a PhD in English. He was a Fulbright Scholar at New York University, where he taught Yoruba language and culture to American students during his Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) fellowship.
