Dr. Todd Drennan is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Marketing at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. His teaching and research focus on digital marketing, international marketing, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in consumer behavior and marketing strategy. He is particularly interested in how global consumers build trust with online brands, social media influencers, and AI-enabled platforms. His research explores topics including international online purchasing, influencer marketing, AI–consumer interaction, sustainability orientation in global markets, and digital trust formation.
Dr. Drennan earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from Mälardalen University in Sweden, where his dissertation examined global consumer online purchase intention from a relationship marketing perspective. He also holds an MBA in International Marketing and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Prior to joining ASU, he served as a Visiting Scholar at Utah State University and held instructional roles in marketing research and business research methodology during his doctoral studies.
At ASU, Dr. Drennan teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing and business performance, social media and content marketing, essentials of marketing
marketing research, global marketing management, and statistics for business. He is committed to experiential and applied learning, integrating emerging AI tools and industry-relevant applications into the classroom to prepare students for rapidly evolving marketing environments.
Before entering academia full time, Dr. Drennan worked in international marketing and account management roles across Europe and the UK, experiences that continue to inform his practical and globally oriented teaching approach.
Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, travel, and time with his family.
