Dr. Emine Ozturk earned her Ph.D. in Technology, specializing in Quantitative Research, Assessment, and Evaluation in Education (QRAE) & Psychological Statistics, from Purdue University. In July 2025, she joined the Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics as an Assistant Research Professor. Prior to this role, she completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Psychology (The Social Development Lab) at North Carolina State University and the University of North Dakota, where she held a joint appointment in the College of Education & College of Engineering.
Through the NSF-funded Projects, she has been involved in mentoring teachers on culturally relevant engineering practices as a part of Project ExCEED, and served as the project coordinator for the U.S. division of the STEM Teens Project, an international research partnership examining informal STEM learning for adolescents in the U.S. and U.K. Her interdisciplinary academic background blends research on social and contextual factors that shape developmental youth outcomes, school climate, and inclusive, culturally responsive practices in STEM Education.
