Xiangyu Guo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks at Arizona State University. Her research focuses on precision optical metrology, machine vision, and advanced manufacturing systems. Guo aims to develop fast, high-resolution metrology and sensing techniques to improve material quality inspection and process control in manufacturing.
Dr. Guo’s expertise includes heterodyne laser interferometry, stereo vision systems, and image-based surface characterization. Her work integrates optical sensing, system modeling, and data-driven analysis to advance hybrid and additive manufacturing processes. She has contributed to projects involving lightweight mirror fabrication, wafer surface inspection, and in-situ monitoring for 3D printing.
Current research explores GPU-accelerated computation optical smoothing process as well as intelligent metrology systems that combine optical instrumentation and real-time monitoring to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and adaptability of manufacturing processes.
