Long Bio
Simon serves as Assistant Director, Student Recruitment, CA Center. He brings a diverse experience and background to our creative community. Most recently, he served as an admissions counselor at the Southern California Institute of Architecture. His previous roles included the Admissions and Enrollment Specialist at UCLA’s Geffen Academy and Recruitment Manager for the Graduate Programs at COED Group in New York.
In addition to Simon’s student recruitment and admissions experiences, he worked as a US Fashion Market Trend Researcher for the Korea Color and Fashion Trend Center, providing in-depth market analysis and trend research for the US fashion industry. He also owned and operated Mauna Coffee in Seoul, South Korea, where he managed all aspects of café operations and provided consulting services to enhance business performance and customer satisfaction. His background includes roles as an assistant buyer for Emporio Armani and a merchandiser for Wal-Mart’s private clothing labels. Simon is CPR (AED/First Aid Certified by the Red Cross in South Korea.
In his new role, Simon will focus on the success of Herberger Institute’s strategic enrollment initiatives in Los Angeles. Simon will work closely with ASU Admission Services colleagues in Los Angeles and collaborate with HIDA team leaders to ensure seamless coverage of Los Angeles student recruitment and admissions events.
Education
Simon holds an MBA in Management Systems from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology, SUNY, and a Bachelor of Arts in English & Korean Language & Literature from Sung Kyun Kwan University in Seoul, South Korea.
