Shiva Pooladvand is an assistant professor in the Del E. Webb School of Construction in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on incorporating intelligent human-machine interaction, immersive environments (VR/AR/MR/AV), artificial intelligence, sensing technologies, data-driven methods, and human factors to advance automation, smart safety, and productivity within construction workplaces.

Research Interests

Advancing construction automation, and smart construction safety through incorporating intelligent human-machine interaction, immersive environments (VR/AR/MR/AV), artificial intelligence (AI), sensing technologies, data-driven methods, and human factors.

Her interdisciplinary research incorporates civil engineering, cognitive psychology, human behavioral science, and computer science to advance construction automation, smart safety and productivity and overcome challenges within complex projects.
