Dr. James Rund is Senior Vice President for Educational Outreach and Student Services at Arizona State University (ASU). His responsibilities include student, school, parent, and community initiatives inteended to insure the full demographic of Arizona acess to ASU. This work includes Educational Outreach, Access ASU, ASU Preparatory Academies, and ASU Prep Digital High School. He is also responsible for the support and success of ASU students outside the classroom during their tenure at the University. His direct reports include Vice Presidents for Student Services, Outreach, ASU Preparatory Academy, and Strategic Initiatives.
Dr. Rund has served in various administrative capacities at ASU including Dean of Student Development, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice President for University Undergraduate Initiatives, Interim Dean and Director of the Mary Lou Fulton Institute and Graduate School of Education, and Interim Vice President for Sun Devil Athletics in 2013 and 2023-2024. He is currently Executive Vice Chair for Sun Devil Sports. He serves on several boards and commissions including the Arizona State Treasurer 529 Advisory Board, Temp Union High School Employee Benefit Trust Board, Greater Phoenix Urban League Board of Directors, and Sun Devil Club Executive Committee.
He is also associate professor of Higher Education in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU. Dr. Rund holds his Doctor of Education in Higher and Adult Education from Arizona State University.
