Naala Brewer received a master’s degree in applied mathematics from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia (including a summer of study in Paris, France), where she researched partial differential equations. She has been teaching at ASU since 2002 and has taught almost every first and second year mathematics course. Her main interest is in engineering mathematics: Calculus for Engineers, Differential Equations and Applied Linear Algebra. She has served as the coordinator and co-coordinator for many First Year Mathematics courses. She has also mentored numerous honors projects for Barrett honors students. She was the recipient of the ASU Sun Devils’ Advocates Apple Polisher award for teaching. Before teaching mathematics at Arizona State University, Brewer did work in the corporate world - STEM research for a fellowship group at Disney Imagineering and network design with Sprint.
