Dr. Yu Tian is an Assistant Research Scientist at the Learning Engineering Institute (LEI) at Arizona State University. As an interdisciplinary researcher and developer in learning engineering, his work spans the design, implementation, and evaluation of AI-powered tools and features that support learning and teaching. His research focuses on process-based writing analytics, automated writing feedback, natural language processing, and educational applications of artificial intelligence. Dr. Tian earned his PhD in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University in 2023 and his master’s degree in English Education from Vanderbilt University in 2018. Before joining LEI, he worked as a Data Engineer at the Learning Engineering Virtual Institute.
