Maya is broadly interested in how cultural and ecological factors are shaping, and have over time already shaped, human social interactions and learning. Specifically, she is developing a program of research that applies a socio-ecological framework to investigate human-AI perceptions, learning, and decision-making.
Maya is a Social Psychology PhD student in the Culture and Decision Science Network Lab (Dr. Virginia Kwan), and the Culture and Ecology Lab (Dr. Michael Varnum).
She previously assisted in research at the University of Chicago for Dr. Shigehiro Oishi's lab, as well as the University of Southern California for Dr. Susan Luczak's lab.
