Brett Taylor, graduate of Brigham Young University, is a professional music educator. With an extensive instrumental and vocal background, Professor Taylor brings precision and passion to the study of music education. His love for music and people is evident in his energetic teaching style and exuberant personality. Professor Taylor is currently pursuing a PhD in Music Learning and Teaching through Arizona State University. Prior to his scholarship at ASU, he was the choir director at Mountain View High School in Orem Utah for twelve years, directing six performing ensembles, vocal directing the music theater class, and teaching an innovative music technology class. He also served as the school Performing Arts Director, representing the performing arts at the school and district levels. His personal hobbies include rock climbing, mountain biking, guitar & mandolin playing, hiking, photography, woodwork and spending time with his family. His wife, Allison, is also a musician and teacher. She teaches orchestra in Chandler Unified School District. They have four children, and reside in Chandler, Arizona.
