Long Bio
Saúl is a PhD student in Materials Science and Engineering at Arizona State University, originally from Mexicali, Mexico. He earned his chemical engineering degree in 2024 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Mexicali, where he developed a strong foundation in experimental research through projects at UC San Diego and the Universidad de Guanajuato. Driven by a passion and curiosity for materials characterization, Saúl joined the DEfECT Lab in August 2025 to explore defect engineering and its role in solar cells. Outside of research, he enjoys practicing track and field, experimenting in the kitchen, and capturing moments through photography.
