Irwin Qi is a doctoral student in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. His research focuses on the intersections of health, healthcare, technology, and communication. With a background in hard/software engineering, he approaches communication problems from a computational perspective. Before joining ASU, he was faculty at New York University Tandon School of Engineering and staff designer at NYU's health system. He directed the cultural and linguistic adaptation of health materials for Mandarin- and Spanish-speaking communities in New York City. Driven by a commitment to bridging communication gaps in public health, other than natively in both Mandarin and English, mejora su español con gran dedicación. Irwin es doctorando en comunicación en la ASU. Investiga la relación entre tecnología, salud y comunicación desde una perspectiva computacional.
Outside school, he volunteers at an animal shelter, walking dogs and meowing along with kittens.
