Dr. Karen Benson is a champion of aspiring teachers and leaders pursuing careers in education today. Most recently serving as Associate Superintendent with the Scottsdale Unified School District, she has extensive experience in leading teaching and learning at the school, district, and regional levels – having worked in diverse roles as a K-12 teacher, adjunct faculty member and district leader for over 25 years.
The current landscape of education influenced by the rapid speed of change in technology and context of the world at large pose big opportunities and complexities for educators. Equipping teachers and leaders with tools to thrive and positively impact the learning and experiences of students is central to her core mission.
