Long Bio
Karen Dwyer is particularly interested in the social influences of how we know what we know, and her research and teaching both reflect that interest. Her research has centered on how groups within contemporary Western societies develop spaces in which to work and how they attract and educate participants. Her dissertation was on an example of that, the human rights organization Amnesty International and its letter writers. Also, she is interested in discussing transactional (social) knowledge negotiations when she teaches. Her interest really is in the social aspects of rhetorical invention.
