Paramvir Sidhu MD is a board-certified rheumatologist with extensive clinical, teaching and research experience who currently serves as chief of rheumatology department and program director of rheumatology fellowship at HonorHealth.
Education and Training Dr. Sidhu received his medical degree from Punjab University’s Dayanand Medical College and attended graduate school at Loma Linda University. He completed his internship at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Hospital. Dr. Sidhu completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology at University of Arizona.
Clinical Expertise and Interests Dr. Sidhu runs the academic rheumatology clinical service at HonorHealth with focus on management of complex rheumatic diseases. Areas of his clinical expertise include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, psoriatic arthritis and lupus. He uses his clinical experience to formulate individualized rheumatology curriculum for trainees at various levels of their learning journey from medical students to rheumatology fellows.
Teaching Philosophy and Approach Dr. Sidhu is passionate about teaching and enjoys teaching medical students, residents from various specialties and rheumatology fellows. His focus is to teach nuances of good history taking and physical examination as well as to foster critical reasoning skills required to formulate accurate different diagnoses and understand utility of laboratory and imaging diagnostic studies. He teaches trainees how to integrate their knowledge of anatomy, pathophysiology and pharmacology to clinical scenarios. He is committed to teaching attributes of rigorous scientific method and evidence-based management as well as empathic and inclusive approach to patient care.
Research, Grants and Scholarly Interests In addition to his teaching role, Dr. Sidhu is actively involved in clinical research with a focus on rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus and osteoporosis. He serves as Director of Rheumatology Research at HonorHealth Research Institute. He has served as an investigator on twenty-seven clinical trials and is currently a principal investigator on six clinical trials ranging from Phase 1 to Phase 4 protocols. He has been a speaker at national rheumatology conferences and has multiple peer review publications. Dr. Sidhu’s current research focus is developing innovative care delivery models to improve outcomes in rheumatic diseases.
Awards and Recognitions Dr. Sidhu received the HonorHealth Distinguished Medical Service Award in 2023. His contribution to teaching and mentoring was recognized in 2025 with Outstanding & Dedicated Leader in Rheumatology award by Phoenix Rheumatology Association. He has received multiple other commendations highlighting his dedication to high quality collaborative clinical care, contributions to clinical research and pioneering work in innovative care delivery models.
Professional Memberships Dr. Sidhu is a fellow of American College of Rheumatology. He is the current president of Phoenix Rheumatology Association and Arizona Bone Alliance as well as Vice Chair of Arizona United Rheumatology Alliance. Dr. Sidhu is ABIM board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology. Dr. Sidhu partners with Arthritis Foundation, Lupus Foundation of America, and Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation in promoting awareness about rheumatic diseases. He also serves as Continuing Medical Education (CME) Chair at HonorHealth.
Personal Interests Outside of work Dr. Sidhu enjoys hiking, reading and traveling. He has keen interest in history and linguistics.
