Abby Thomas is an Assistant Professor in the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership at Arizona State University. She teaches courses in the history of political philosophy, with a particular emphasis on ancient political philosophy. Her current research project is a book-length study of the nature of early childhood education in classical political thought, with a particular focus on Aristotle’s discussion of the role of law, habituation, pleasure, and pain in the formation of prudence. Prior to joining ASU, Thomas held postdoctoral fellowships at Princeton University and the University of Texas at Austin.
