Kobi Abayomi is a trained Probabilist and Statistician with over 20 years of creating, applying, and publishing theoretical and methodological statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
He joined ASU as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Data Science in fall 2025. He was previously SVP of Data Science at Warner Music Group and has also served as a Professor of Industrial Engineering, Probability, and Statistics and Environmental Science at Georgia Tech, Universidad de Cuenca, and Binghamton University. As a consultant, he has worked with the United Nations Development Programme, The World Bank, The Innocence Project, and the NYC Department of Education.
Abayomi's focus is the data science of demand for digital media. He has recently authored work on optimizing streaming demand for digital media and leads science for Betaside Recordings. He has also been published in Statistics, Environmental Science, and Environmental Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Probability and Statistics from Columbia University and Post-doctorates from Duke and Stanford Universities. His undergraduate degree is from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he serves on the advisory board.
