Born in a small town, becoming the youngest daughter of 8 kids to 2 hardworking immigrants. I learned that I have to do things differently or i will be stuck in a small town living how my siblings and parents lived. So from an early age I did what i could, being in extracurricular activities, taking accelerated classes in middle school and high school. I wanted something different for myself so i started to look into colleges. Quickly found out how expensive it would be and even if i was able to get a loan for tuition or scholarships I had no idea how I would live. You see no one ever talked about how to pay for the expenses besides tuition. There was the obvious to get a job but as a worst case scenario thinker what would happen if I couldn’t get one? I was not willing to take the risk of ending up in an unknown city. So I went with plan b. I enlisted into the army left for training right after high school and everything seemed to be working out.
Unfortunately life started to happen.
Now 13 years later from when I first left that small town I am finally back on the path to doing what i wanted since the beginning.
