Bob Lewis, Ph.D. is an Associate Teaching Professor at the Arizona State University School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering (SOMME). He brings extensive experience in medical education from his previous role at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, where he served as a physiology educator, course director, and faculty leader for seven years. Dr. Lewis teaches across the foundational sciences with a focus on cardiovascular, pulmonary, and autonomic physiology. He is passionate about case-based and active learning approaches that foster student success. His scholarship spans both basic science and education, including publications in Advances in Physiology Education and other peer-reviewed journals, with research on respiratory control in congestive heart failure, cardiovascular autonomic regulation in socially monogamous prairie voles, and innovative teaching strategies. He is also active in professional service, serving as Treasurer/Secretary for the Arizona Physiological Society, a peer reviewer for multiple journals, and a national faculty reviewer for the NBOME.
