Long Bio
Emma Jackson is a PhD student in Learning, Literacies and Technologies at Arizona State University and a software engineer for ASU's Business and Finance IT. She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Computer Science from New Mexico State University. Emma's focuses include educational technology, dyslexia, and digital accessibility.
Inspired by her younger brother's experience with dyslexia, Emma is passionate about researching, designing, and developing educational video games to teach learners with dyslexia how to read and write. Before attending ASU, she was a Lead Instructor at iD Tech's ASU location for 4 years, teaching students ages 7-17 in a variety of STEM classes, including: BattleBots, Java Programming, Art and Animation, Game Design, Scratch, Minecraft, and Roblox.
