Vince Cotroneo, a 32 years veteran of broadcasting major league baseball, joins the faculty in 2026 as an adjunct professor. Cotroneo broadcast for the Houston Astros (1991-97), Texas Rangers (1998-2003)and Oakland Athletics (2006-2024). A 1983 graduate of the University of Central Florida, Cotroneo has also broadcast college football and basketball (1979-82) and the USFL Tampa Bay Bandits (1985). Cotroneo spent nine seasons broadcasting minor league baseball (1981-90) and was the inaugural minor league broadcaster of the year following the 1988 season. A former intern at NBC Network Radio, he was part of the network's live coverage of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Winner of a national radio award for a docuseries on Nolan Ryan (1999) and 2024 finalist for California Sportscaster of the Year.
