Long Bio
Jelena Milovanovic is originally from Australia, and it was downunder that she obtained her B.S. degrees in mathematics and actuarial science from Macquarie University. She obtained a doctoral degree from ASU while teaching full-time as a lecturer. Milovanovic is an associate actuary of both the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (AAIA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA). She is also one of the founders of the B.S. degree in actuarial science (launched fall 2014), and M.S. degree in actuarial science (new for fall 2018).
Since 2014, Milovanovic has been the faculty advisor for the actuarial science student club (now known as Gamma Iota Sigma Kappa Chapter @ ASU) where she advises, mentors, and supports club members in their quests to become actuaries. She continuously networks with actuarial organizations and professionals establishing long-term relationships, both locally and nationwide, with the goal of bridging the gap between students and the industry.
