Long Bio
Carmen D’Angelo is Deputy Vice President for Educational Outreach and Student Services, Fiscal and Business Services, at Arizona State University (ASU). Her responsibilities include oversight of all fiscal, HR, sponsored projects, technology, asset management, audit/compliance, and business operations across all EOSS departments and units, as well as direct support of the Senior Vice President’s office.
Carmen started her career in the non-profit and marketing industries before coming to ASU. Since joining ASU, she has served in various administrative and teaching capacities at ASU in the past 21 years of her time here. In addition to working in academic units such as Sociology and Watts College, she also spent a few years working in the Student Accessibility and Inclusive Learning unit on the Federal TRIO program. Carmen also served as a faculty associate for a number of years, teaching in the ASU Criminology program.
Carmen holds a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Global Technology and Development. She is also a nationally certified Public Manager (CPM). Most recently, she earned her Doctorate in Education Leadership (EdD) from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, where her research focused on how institutional isomorphism and psychological factors influence staff decision-making, particularly in the context of how housing decisions affect student success.
