Beth Schlenker received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Northern Arizona University, where she focused on mathematics in education. Schlenker has been very active with the local school districts providing training to teachers on teaching their mathematics curriculum through various grants. She has also helped to create, pilot, make videos, and edit the current curriculum for some of the mathematics education (MTE) courses being utilized by various colleges in Arizona (including Arizona State University). She also teaches and coordinates two of those classes. In addition, she also volunteers her time yearly for ASU’s Night of the Open Door, the Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics (AATM) conference, along with the AATM’s 6th Grade Math Challenge. She has served on various departmental committees along with teaching first year mathematics courses.
