Dr. Mernoy E. Harrison, Jr. was recently appointed Vice President and Executive Vice Provost for Arizona State University Online and Extended Education. He previously served as Vice President and Executive Vice Provost for the ASU-Downtown Phoenix campus and Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance at Arizona State University after serving as Vice Provost for Administrative Services at ASU-Tempe Campus. Prior to his initial appointment at ASU-Tempe in 1997, he was the Vice President for Administration at California State University, Sacramento for 16 years. Dr. Harrison has also been comptroller at North Carolina Central University, where he taught and also served as the assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the undergraduate dean.
Dr. Harrison is active in both state and national associations and has served as secretary and chairman of NACUBO (National Association of College and University Business Officers) and as WACUBO's (Western Association of College and Business Officers) national representative to NACUBO. Dr. Harrison is the 2005 recipient of NACUBO’s Distinguished Business Officer award, the Association’s most prestigious award. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Society for College and University Planning. In 1992 he was elected to the Board of Trustees of Stanford University and served through 1998. Dr. Harrison earned his PhD in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and MBA and BS degrees from Stanford University.
