The Kruer laboratory’s goal is to unravel the molecular and cellular mechanisms that lead to developmental and degenerative movement disorders of childhood in order to better diagnose and treat these disabling conditions. Our work is inherently translational but focused on fundamental mechanisms that alter metabolism, early neuronal development, and cellular responses to cytotoxic stressors.
