I am an Arizona native, born and raised in Phoenix! I have been a student, adjunct faculty, parent of students, student myself again, instructor, and now Professor here at ASU! One is never too old to learn...or follow your dream. Nowadays, I find great joy in volunteering as a nurse in various jobs in the community, as well as teaching students about the art, and science of nursing. My career has spanned several decades, with bedside work overlapping with teaching. I have always been able to find work as a nurse, or educator, in classrooms or in the community. I look forward to this new chapter in my nursing career.

Hodges, M. (Winter, 2023.) Text me! Pulseline. www.nursesforlife.org
Pilot study Fall of 2023 on the Polytechnic campus assessing the feasibility and scalability of texting student nurses as a remedy to increase student engagement with coursework and faculty communications. Results demonstrate a text response time of ten minutes for those that engaged with the texts; and students reported favorably to questions regarding texting as a method to increase meaning between coursework, lecture, and practice without becoming intrusive or blurring the line of professionalism.
My DNP Project (2020-2022) involved integrating evidence-based research into a process improvement plan to increase client engagement with a local pro-life pregnancy center's online educational programs. I further researched the impact of self-efficacy experienced by those participating in my project. Results demonstrated a significant increase in client engagement with the online programs, and statistically significant improvement in self-efficacy.
