Patricia Reeder is a faculty member in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. She has a diverse background of nursing experiences. As a staff nurse, she was given exceptional opportunities to experience working on medical surgical, maternal-child health, psychiatric patient care units and community health. Early in her practice she realized how much she enjoyed working with and supporting nursing students during their rotations on the nursing units. This then led her to pursue a master’s degree in community health nursing with a minor in education. Because of her intense interest in psychology and the many dimensions of human behavior, she pursued additional education that led to a post-master’s degree in counseling and psychology. As a nurse educator, she believes in the importance of providing opportunities that create awareness of the importance of making educated decisions regarding the health of individuals, their communities and their cultures.
