Certified as a clinical microbiologist and medical technologist in 1972. Achieved MT(ASCP) certification in 1973. Helped establish the Washington State University State Veterinary Diagnostic Microbiology Laboratory in 1973. Worked 25 years as a medical technologist and microbiologist for Tucson Medical Center and Banner Health. Has taught microbiology to college students for 20 years. Member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the American Society of Microbiologists.
