Kenneth R. Brooks is professor of landscape architecture in The Design School at Arizona State University, where his teaching includes topics, workshops and courses in the areas of geographic information systems, large-scale ecological land use planning and community design, interdisciplinary collaboration, research methods, natural environmental systems and design pedagogy. He also serves as the coordinator for the Landscape Architecture programs (BSLA and MLA). He has been at ASU since 2004, when he was appointed as associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Design.
Professor Brooks is registered landscape architect and environmental planner. He came to ASU from Kansas State University, where he taught for 22 years in the Department of Landscape Architecture / Regional and Community Planning. He is one of the Charter Members of the American Planning Association. Brooks is a past president of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture and a member of the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board's Roster of Visiting Evaluators. He has been recognized for his contributions of leadership to education and inducted as a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and a fellow of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture.
