Robert Wood

Robert Wood is a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems with the W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU. He joined ASU in 2005 where his teaching has focused on introducing freshman to the IS field and helping them with their transition to the university experience. For the academic year 2014-2015 he was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award by the Department of Information Systems for teaching within the W. P. Carey School of Business undergraduate core.

He is an Associate Professor Emeritus in Information Systems from Drake University where he taught from 1988-2005 before coming to ASU. For his last few years there he was chairman of the department. In 2001 the International Students Association named him Teacher of the Year.

Overlapping time spent at both Drake and ASU he served on the Board of Directors of GuideOne Mutual Insurance Company.

Prior to teaching he worked over fifteen years in the Information Systems field in industry ending that phase of his career serving as the Senior Director of Information Systems for Greyhound Lines. While at Greyhound he oversaw the consolidation of the company’s Information Systems department in Des Moines, Iowa and the installation of several major systems including a nationwide ticketing system.
