Valerie Ramos is a Senior Program Coordinator with the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute at ASU. In this role, she supports onboarding and implementation for the Youth Entrepreneurship team. After completing her bachelor's degree at the University of Miami, Valerie went to ASU to earn her master's degree in anthropology. While working toward her master's degree, Valerie conducted ethnographic research with underserved children and families, focusing on educational opportunities beyond the classroom--museums, libraries, and the outdoors. In the last ten years, Valerie has taught children in Miami, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, strategically avoiding the snow everywhere she went. The last five years Valerie has taught preschool.
Valerie is currently pursuing her doctoral degree (EdD) in Leadership and Innovation at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Her research interests are teacher support & mentorship and university outreach.
To Valerie, entrepreneurship means taking action to solve problems, and she believes anyone can be entrepreneurial.
