Adrian Lerma serves as Senior Director of Development for Tribal Nations at the Arizona State University Foundation for A New American University. She is Diné, born and raised on the Navajo Nation. Her role is a testament to the commitment ASU has made to connect much needed resources to American Indian led and serving initiatives that empower scholars, foster leadership, strengthen relationships, and expand partnerships with Tribal Nations.
The past 12 years of her professional career have been dedicated to working within and for Native American communities. Whether it's been to address energy disparities on the Navajo Nation, implementing innovative solutions to diversify economies on tribal lands, or supporting future leaders and academics within Indian Country – she has consistently endeavored to be of service to her People and her homeland.
She serves as a liaison for the Diné Hataałii Association, Inc., and sits on the Board of Directors for the Diné Studies Association and the Rezilience Organization. Mrs. Lerma holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is currently working on a Master of Organizational Leadership at Northern Arizona University.
