Kaely Monahan has been a faculty associate at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication since Spring of 2021.
She teaches JMC305/306 Multimedia Journalism and MCO 375 Podcasting.
Professionally, Kaely is an audio and podcast producer for Valley 101 and The Gaggle podcasts at The Arizona Republic/azcentral.com.
An Arizona native, growing up in the East Valley gave her an intimate familiarity with the Valley of the Sun. Her curiosity about history and people leads her to seek out overlooked and unusual stories. She also has a spot of passion for science stories. Kaely earned her BA in Classical Studies from the University of Arizona and then went on to complete her MA in International Journalism with distinction from City University London. She has worked both in print and broadcasting, with six years spent producing public radio in Phoenix. Outside of the newsroom and classroom, Kaely can be found watching Korean dramas, experimenting with recipes, and snuggling with her cats.
