Dr. Biekert started teaching vocational Machining and Drafting at Elgin Larkin High School. Dr. Biekert taught Mfg Tech at WIU, Macomb, IL specializing in CNC. He was hired by ASU in 1971 to teach Mfg Tech and served for 9 years. He was then hired by Garrett Engines as Production Manager, promoted to production Engineering Manager by Allied Signal and then promoted to Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Director by Allied Signal. Dr. Biekert was employed by Garrett and Allied Signal for 16 years and then hired as V.P. of Operations byCorning Gilbert Connectors for 5 years. He was rehired by ASU with tenure in 2002 for MMET to teach Manufacturing courses. Dr. Biekert is a past member of American Welding, Society of Manufacturing Engineers and Computer Numerical Control Societies. Fellow of SME and Certified Manufacturing Engineer by SME. International Director (6years) of SME. Past Chairs of SME, AWS, and CNC Phoenix Chapters. Served on state and national Skills USA Machining contest committees. Chaired the Phoenix Skills USA TQM contest committee. Now awarded life member of Skills USA and SME.
