Greetings. I began my Nursing Career as a house-keeper; then CNA in a Phoenix area Nursing Home. I completed an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) at Phoenix College, while continuing to work as a CNA at an Acute Care Hospital on a Medical-Surgical Unit. I attended multiple continuing education courses at Gateway Community College that included a Critical Care Training Fellowship with my hospital as I transitioned through a Telemetry Unit and finally to Intensive Care.
Scholastically. I attended Arizona State University: (Edson) College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation and completed the Bachelor’s Bridge (BSN). I attended Northern Arizona University and completed a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education (MSN-Ed.); while beginning my teaching career at my Alma Mater: Phoenix College. Finally, I attended the University of Arizona and completed the Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree (DNP) with an emphasis on the Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner continuum. I hold certification(s) in Critical Care (CCRN), and as a Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC).
Personal. After more than 25-years of Nursing; I hope you find as much enjoyment of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly(s), of all aspects in Nursing. It is a rewarding career and has given back; everything I have put into it. My greatest hope is to provide the best education, support and opportunities that were given to me over my developing career.
And remember, You will teach me as much as I ever teach you. Hope to see you in class and collaboratively learn together!
Post Script. It is Never too Late; Too Keep Learning.
