Long Bio

David Brokaw has been with the ASU Melikian Center for Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies since August 2005. He currently serves the Center as a Program Coordinator for Events and Administration. He has worked on training, education, and orientation programs for: Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTAs), U.S. Fulbright awardees, as well as for a Religious Studies MA program with the University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), a Women’s Leadership program with Yerevan State University (Armenia), a Youth Leadership program with high school students from Azerbaijan, a Workforce Development and Public Policy Thinktank program with Moscow State University (Russia), and Accountancy Education and Renewable Energy and Sustainability programs with the University of Prishtina (Kosovo). He provides support to the Melikian Center's Critical Languages Institute (CLI) summer intensive language program, which offers courses in 14 languages.

For seven years before joining ASU, David worked for the Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister City Project, including State Department and USAID projects providing education and training for program participants from Kharkiv, Ukraine.

He studied Russian in high school and in graduate school, and spent a term abroad in Kharkiv, Ukraine, at what is now Kharkiv National University.
