">Dr. Sandra Nagy, Ph.D., is a
professor emeritus at ASU and has taught at AECP for seven years.
She is also currently the department
chairperson for the online English Language Learners’ Master
of Education program for the American Graduate School of
Education. During her time at ASU, she has
served as the director of the Writing Across the Curriculum
program, the Writing Center coordinator, and a supervisor of
student teachers in English Education. Prior to
coming to ASU, she taught kindergarten through 10

teacher and an ESL specialist for the Toronto, Canada Board of
Education for thirteen years. She also taught
music in her native England for two years.

">Dr. Sandra has published
extensively, including articles about medical writing, literary
analyses, English grammar, and standardized testing.
She has developed a computer-based writing assessment test
through a grant from Apple Computer, a computer program that
assesses learning styles, and a one-on-one tutorial
database. She is a prolific presenter to ASU
professors about incorporating writing skills, designing and
assessing research paper assignments, assessing students’
work, enhancing critical thinking, writing syllabi, teaching
methodology, and grammar.

professional pursuits, she likes to write children’s
literature, take mind-stretching courses, travel, play the piano
and train dogs.
