Shap Wolf was at ASU from 1980 to 2011, as a graduate student, intern, and academic professional in several roles in research, teaching and IT.

Wolf's last posting was as the interim director of technology for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences from March-September 2014. He oversaw technology integration and support in the college.

Wolf retired as the IT coordinator for the School of Life Sciences in June 2011 and was appointed a professor emeritus. During his seven years in SOLS he worked on a number of projects, most notably the successful implementation of the ASU-Smithsonsian Tropical Research Institute personal telepresence project using Vidyo.

From 1983 to 2004, he was at the Sociology Survey Research Laboratory (SRL), serving as director for the last 17 years. The SRL carried out over 200 funded social policy studies, bringing in more than $3 million in funding. Data were collected by phone, mail, and door-to-door. The SRL was one of the first university labs to implement Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing using personal computers, and contributed to early research in the CATI field.

Wolf has been involved with the American Association for Public Opinion Research since he began his career in survey research, serving on Conference Operations for six years, on Council as Publications and Information Chair, and as sponsor of the AAPORnet listserv during its tenure at ASU from 2002-2011.
