Long Bio
Susan Beiner is a professor in the School of Art. Beiner has taught ceramics in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University since 2006. Her work has been described as "lush, intricate encrusted vessels and wall installations draw the viewer into another world where the line between nature and that which is man-made is blurred."
Beiner has exhibited nationally and internationally, has received numerous awards and residencies, and her work is included in diverse and prestigious collections as The Yixing Ceramics Museum, Yixing, China; the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Sheboygan, WI; and the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum. She was named Joan R. Lincoln Endowed Professor in Ceramics in 2017. This professorship was created by the Lincoln family in honor of Joan Lincoln’s lifelong passion for making, collecting and supporting ceramic arts.
