Nalini Chhetri is a Clinical Professor in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society and the School of Sustainability. She holds a doctorate in education policy studies with a minor in demography from Pennsylvania State University, and an M.Sc in Cyto-genetics.
Professor Chhetri’s interdisciplinary work centers on STEM education among refugee communities, natural resources and watershed management, research design, energy and energy systems, climate and technological impacts in the Global South, as well as urban sustainability. She currently directs over a dozen PhD students from the USA and across the world in interdisciplinary research. Her career also included directing sustainable development programs for international nongovernmental organizations for over a decade, work that continues in her current academic life. She works with think-tanks and agencies in China, Ghana, Guyana, India, Jordan, Nepal, Sierra Leone, and the USA. She has consulted for UNESCO and European bilateral agencies.
