Bates is an Associate Dean and Professor in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts. She is a historian of the 19th and 20th centuries U.S. Indigenous South.

Morris is a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma. Her research focuses on Tribal Digital Sovereignty.

Turquoise, MSW (Salish/Blackfeet), Project Coordinator at the ASU SSW Office of American Indian Projects, builds tribal capacity and creates culturally safe spaces and trauma-informed approaches to support Native Americans.
