Carpenter studies engagement and emotions, and their impact on health behaviors, using methods that adapt to the unique needs of the individual.

Hunter is a citizen of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe from Tucson, AZ. Her research focuses on the relationship between Indigenous cultural identity and health.

Salekin serves as an assistant professor at the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering and as a graduate faculty in Computer Science, advising PhD students in the Computer Science program.
