Robert Benoit

Robert Benoit has taught at ASU since January 2008 as a faculty associate. He created a course "STS303 History of Science &Technology" which until recently he taught online. He also taught STS101 Science, Technology and Society - an introduction in an online setting. He currently teaches "ISS450 Consumerism and Sustainable Development which he created and is passionate about.

He incorporates many interactive features into his three online courses such as class meetings in Zoom, filmed lectures, interactive discussion boards and others to replicate an "in class face to face experience" for his students. He is enthusiastic about his teaching and very pro-active regarding his student's academic success.

His experience includes 41 years as an engineer in both commercial and aerospace industries, the last 11 of which he was vice-president of engineering in a fuel cell company.  His experience includes design work on the Lunar Module and F-14 Tomcat naval fighter. He is named as inventor or co-inventor on 15 patents. His lectures include many of his diverse life experiences to make the lectures "come alive" for the student.
