Steve Clayden - ASU class of '83 - is a consulting engineer in private practice. He holds the CISSP Cybersecurity certification awarded by (ISC)2, Certificate # 668275. In addition to teaching and consulting in the field of cybersecurity, he also designs software solutions, databases, products and animations for a variety of clients including animated court exhibits for Mesa and Phoenix Police departments and various law firms. He has been an executive consultant for the Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Epidemiology and Disease Control where he analyzed and developed database applications and web interfaces for the various offices in the bureau. He has been an applications engineer and director of training for ESS Connect of Tempe AZ, a complete solution provider for engineering offices throughout the southwest. He managed training and technical support for various engineering system software products.
Dr. Clayden was previously the front-end/tooling manager for Continental Circuits Corporation located in Phoenix, Arizona, responsible for the development of phototooling used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards. He has worked in various design and production arenas from toy design for Mattel to the aerospace and defense industries designing and building SDI prototypes and windtunnel models. He received a doctorate in information technology management from Capella University. He has taught undergraduate and graduate-level management and technical courses from Java programming to website and video game design for various community and technical colleges and universities since 1985.
He is currently a faculty associate in the Fulton Schools of Engineering Polytechnic School in the Information Technology Department on ASU's Polytechnic campus.
